What We Offer
The Herbal Hummingbird Hub is here to hold space for healing and learning at the intersections of race, gender, class, and colony.
Our residencies, internships, and retreats are offered for people who identify as Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous communities of all genders. Our guest teachers come from many backgrounds, with a deep welcome to teachers whose knowledges have been marginalized by white supremacy culture. Our ancestral medicine circles welcome people of all ancestries. Our prayer is to practice interracial and intercultural healing in collective apprenticeship to Plants.
Classes
Our classes help people remember the medicinal plants of our ancestors, how to tend herb gardens and prepare herbal remedies, and how to identify local wildflowers, trees, birds, and pollinators.
Residencies
Our Artist-Healer Residency is for creators identifying as artist and healer to spend time visioning, practicing, and embodying the integration of their craft(s).
Garden Walks
Each summer, we offer guided herb walks through our Sanctuary Garden to learn about medicinal plants that benefit both people and pollinators.
Retreats
Our gardens are a sanctuary for marginalized individuals to retreat and engage in spiritual contemplation, ritual care, artistic expression, and racial and ancestral healing.
We hold space for Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous healers of color to come learn about herbs, rest, and connect in a tranquil setting.
