The Land

The Herbal Hummingbird Hub is located on the homeland of the Penobscot people, who are part of the Wabanaki Confederacy, near the rocky, wrack-braided sea coast of land now known as Maine.

We give thanks for the opportunity to tend the soil and plants in this place, and learn here from one another and Earth. We hold the historical and ongoing harms of European colonization on this land as a primary injustice, and we recognize our duty to participate in healing the wounds of that harm. We are guided by relationship with the healing plants and the teachings shared by Wabanaki people in our ongoing commitment to restoration, reparations, rematriation, and collective liberation on this land.
